Alpine coach

Ski coach level 1

Our ski coach level 1 course is aimed at new coaches that wish to work with athletes at the 'FUNdamentals' and 'Learn to Train' phases of the Athlete Pathway and will form the foundation of a coach pathway which provides each skiing/ snowboarding discipline the opportunity to develop higher levels of coach training and accreditation in the future.

We are endorsed to deliver these courses on behalf of Ski & Snowboard Australia. 

The course cost includes; SSA coach membership, on-hill training and associated learning materials (lift tickets are NOT included).

Entry Pre-Requisites

The ASC Beginning Coaching General Principles forms the foundation in which this level 1 Ski Coach course is delivered. As such, proof of completion of this course must be supplied to the course provider by no later than 1 week (7 days) prior to the commencement of the course.

Pre-requisites to enter this course require participants to:

  • Hold current APSI membership.
  • Have completed the ASC Beginning Coaching General Principals Online course and supply confirmation to the course provider at least 1 week prior to the commencement of the course.
  • Have an APSI level 2 Alpine Ski Instructor accreditation that is current AND/ OR
  • Have represented Australia Internationally at FIS Continental Cup Competition level or higher.

Recognition of Prior Learning (Application form)
RPL will take into account previous accreditation(s) achieved through equal and/ or equivalent coaching courses administered nationally and internationally, as well as proven ability, knowledge and experience of relevant disciplines gained as a current or former athlete and/ or coach.

Recognition of Current Competency (Application form) 
RCC will take into account the current ability, knowledge and experience of a prospective coach whether recognised or not through equal and/ or equivalent coaching course. Proof of RCC may require prospective coaches to supply supporting documentation including; past/ present competition results, past/ present coaching experience and/ or relevant and credible references. 

Snowboard coach

Snowboard coach level 1

Our snowboard coach level 1 course is aimed at new coaches that wish to work with athletes at the 'FUNdamentals' and 'Learn to Train' phases of the Athlete Pathway and will form the foundation of a coach pathway which provides each skiing/ snowboarding discipline the opportunity to develop higher levels of coach training and accreditation in the future.
